Fan forum next Tuesday
Anyone going?

Official Site:
West Ham United are planning a special forum on Tuesday 20 September to get first-hand feedback on how the Club can give all supporters the best possible matchday experience at London Stadium.

Over recent weeks, the West Ham Board have reviewed all the feedback and suggestions submitted to the Club and are seeking to take action on all the points raised, but they are also keen to hear directly from the Hammers faithful, and discuss the issues with them.

The Club acknowledge the magnitude of the move to our new home and the inevitable settling in process, and we appreciate the support of loyal Hammers fans for their help and patience in these early stages. Feedback from our supporters is vital in helping us to identify ways in which we can enhance the stadium experience.

On a long-term basis, West Ham are currently establishing a new format for the Supporters Advisory Board for the 2016/17 season, designed to provide ongoing feedback from a fully-representative sample of fans, and the Club are grateful for all those supporters who have so far applied to take part.

But in the interim, a special Supporters’ Forum will be held on Tuesday 20 September so that West Ham Board members and other senior Club representatives have a chance to hear face-to-face from the fans what is working well at London Stadium, and where there is room for improvement.

Invitations have already gone out to every fan who formed part of the previous Supporters Advisory Board for the 2015/16 season, and to more than a thousand Founders who have so far submitted feedback via our dedicated email service at foundersfeedback@westhamunited.co.uk.

However, West Ham are keen to hear from the broadest possible cross-section of the Club’s support, so if you would like to register your interest in attending, please email supporterservices@westhamunited.co.uk by 12 noon on Friday 16 September, and tell us the question or issue that you want to raise.

As we are doing with the new Supporters Advisory Board, the Club will ensure that this Forum features the widest range of experiences at London Stadium, so we will select attendees from every different area in each stand, and whose views and questions represent the full spectrum we have received.

If you apply to attend, you will be told by the end of Friday afternoon whether your application is successful, but even if it is not, you can rest assured that the issues you have raised will be discussed.

Thank you all again for your willingness to help the Club provide the best possible matchday experience at London Stadium. The West Ham Board look forward to seeing many of you and discussing your views and suggestions on Tuesday.

Long gone are the days of a forum like the Redknapp/Lampard one. They're so stage managed now. Email a question in and they'll pick out the most softest question to ask whoever is on the panel.

spot on, it'll be the werthers originals brigade off kumb who'll be consulted. an absolutely pointless exercise

Re: Fan forum next Tuesday
I went to one once where the board and Redknapp were ruined by the fans questions.

Was about Harry's mum and the Rio sale.

Guarantee it won't be anything like that anymore.

Re: Fan forum next Tuesday
I went to two last season

Second one was with Gold, every question he looked to the PR girl in the front row and basically repeated what she mouthed at him.

Players were good and honest though. The host does have the questions already in hand but there is a chance at the end to ask some unplanned ones.

Overall they are good evenings to attend.

That reads to me more like an SAB meeting where you can just yell at them, rather than the vetted "Why are you so great?" Q&A sessions.

If there's a selection I doubt I'll be invited.

the WATCHERS have caught me calling various staffers various things over time and I hardly made myself any friends at the club when i was on the SAB.

Re: Fan forum next Tuesday
Does anyone have an opinion as to the percentage of fans unhappy with their new stadium experience?

Much of what Gold and Sulli are hit with IMO is the legacy of previous owners going back to Arnold Hills :-) It was also a class divide in the old days with the working class on the terraces and the middle / upper class owners and share holders. Hence the animosity intensified as the owners ambitions were akin to the club being a cash cow for their dividends. Investment in players and the football side kept to a minimum or at best a tight and modest budget.

With that in mind, I read the postings on here and other sites of some fans who are unhappy (some apoplectic) about the move, gap at the side to the pitch, their new seat and no standing and generally the influx of a new demographic (families, tourists).

There are issues / problems without doubt. Inevitable with any change project and one of this nature that has emotional ties to past experiences at UP and generally the realisation that the game and club is trying to morph to what we once called a "plastic" set of fans. Unfortunately, IMO it was inevitable. If we want to have a chance at getting to the upper echelons of the Premiership compromises were part of the deal. It dont help that we have started badly this campaign and I think that is really the root cause of the "unrest". Then there is the media waiting to pounce on any negatives of the move. Evening Standard a case in point and it does make you wonder about the hidden agendas and possible Tottenham influence sometimes such is the sensational, "world is ending" narrative they direct at West Ham :-)

This forum next Tuesday will likely be dominated by the few, loudest and emotional fans :-(

They will vent, their starting position with the owners is that "they" are out to get one over them, disrespect them, take them for granted. Its a kind of institutionalised and default thinking, a reflex that takes over.

I personally do not think G & S have the wealth to ultimately take us to where we and they want to be with regular champions league football. But they have been excellent owners in relative terms. Best in my lifetime by far (since late 50s).

They do overhype or over sell. Thats the businessmen side of their personalities and their egos at play.

The "handbags" last Saturday was as much about the team's performance and that frustration gets released as complaints about the move, the owners etc..

But for all their faults (and they have a few ), they I think are trying to respond and are listening. It seems they are making moves for safe standing options and that will be a first in the Prem and should go a long way to solving the "friction" we are seeing with fans wanting a different experience sitting alongside eachother.

The playing side and levels of investment are a far bigger challenge and like I say, I think their and our expectations are ahead of their ability to invest and the depth of their wealth.

I have waiting nigh on 60 years for us to become champions as my dad did (80 years) and grandad who went back almost to the Thames Ironworks days. I do not expect to see it happen unless we do a Leicester. All I want is for us to become established in the top half and at least on the fringes as we were last year. To do that season on season, is the limit of our current ownership IMO but I will be happy not worrying about relegation as a starting point. I still am :-(

As always, sorry for the long winded, diatribe and stream of semi-conciousness. I know many will be swinging from the rafters several paragraphs back and those reading this last paargraph will have lost the will to live, but in "readers digest" style, I think I am simply hoping that this forum and fans in general will enter into discussions in a measured, balanced way and without a chip on both shoulders :-)

I am in no way connected with the owners I can assure you btw :-)
